The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro v8 uses a 100% recycled polyester upper, dyed with a print dye technique that uses less water and energy to gain results. It also features printed components which contain rubber waste to reduce land fill and reuse materials.
The Fresh Foam X midsole foam has been tweaked and now uses the highest level of sustainable sugar cane feedstock, at 40%, meaning it has a lower reliance on virgin petroleum.
It also uses an update to the Vibram outsole, called Vibram Eco-Step Recycle it contains natural rubber and recycled rubber for a lower carbon component and again, reducing the reliance on virgin petroleum.
